Our Mission
We work to hold elected officials accountable, support policies that promote justice, equity, and sustainability, and empower our community to engage in the political process. Through grassroots organizing, direct action, and strategic advocacy, we strive to build a government that works for everyone
Who we are
We are INDIVISIBLE El Dorado, a local chapter of the national INDIVISIBLE movement, made up of neighbors, activists, and concerned citizens from Congressional District 5 (CA-5) and Congressional District 3 (CA-3).
We are a grassroots organization made up of community members who work together to advocate for progressive values and hold elected officials accountable.
We are:
- an independent and locally led chapter, rooted in the principles outlined in the original INDIVISIBLE Guide.
- aligned with the national INDIVISIBLE movement's goals of promoting democracy, equity, and justice.
- focused on community involvement and civic engagement such as organizing town halls, contacting representatives, educating voters, supporting progressive candidates, and mobilizing around key legislative issues.
- mobilized to emphasize collective action, collaborate with allied groups and empower individuals to participate meaningfully in the political process at the local, state, and national levels.
We value inclusivity, transparency, nonviolence, and the power of collective action. Everyone has a role to play in building a better future.
Why now?
The re-election of Donald Trump as President in 2024 made it imperative to reenergize INDIVISIBLE in El Dorado County as a local, grass-roots volunteer organization to mobilize in order to hold elected officials accountable and fight back against Project 2025. As Trump assumed office, the unprecedented threat to democratic norms and institutions became clear. Citizen action is the only remaining check to preserve American democracy.
