Families First Food Drive
July 26, 2025
Placerville
On Saturday, July 26, Indivisible El Dorado conducted a food drive to collect donations for El Dorado County food banks. Volunteers received donations from 10 a.m. to noon at 183 Placerville Drive. More than 1,500 pounds of food was collected.
The food drive was seeking donations of shelf-stable canned or packaged foods (no frozen or refrigerated food). All food was donated to the Food Bank of El Dorado. The Food Bank distributes food to local families and feeding programs in El Dorado County.
Families First Now is a national day of action sponsored by Service Employees International Union local 2015 to hold peaceful marches, rallies and actions that say families come first.
While facilitating the Food Drive, Indivisible El Dorado held a sign rally as well, protesting the cuts to Medicare, Food programs, ICE raids, and school lunch programs that harm families.
The event was much appreciated by Families First and the Food Bank and the protest signs were acknowledged by friendly honking..
