Take Action Now Team (TANT)
TANT organizes protests, rallies, and community meetings to hold elected officials accountable and engage local constituents in direct action. We coordinate visibility events, voter education, legislative office visits, and grassroots activities to promote activism and resistance.

About Our Work

The Take Action Now Team (TANT) organizes like-minded people to hold elected and other officials accountable through a number of actions that engage local constituents.

We organize protests, rallies, and community meetings to engage local constituents, promote activism and bring awareness to the horrendous policies and actions of the current administration.

Our goals are accomplished through organizing actions such as the "No Kings" protest on overpasses and bridges in El Dorado County. In addition, TANT works to increase voter education and registration, organizes visits to local legislative offices, and supports actions such as phone banking and canvassing. We have a variety of activities where you can make a difference.

As a TANT member, you will have the opportunity to become involved in a number of activities. Many are described in the earlier section. Others include group sign making, and attending protests and other "Visibility Events."

Our members come from a variety of backgrounds. Are you a long-time activist with years of experience? Join us. We can use your expertise. Are you a person who has never participated in activism but are simply fed up with the harm this administration is doing to our country, our friends and family? Join us. Bring your commitment to resistance and make a change. You'll find like-minded people who will support you.

Help Wanted

We have a variety of activities where you can make a difference, some of which are noted below.

  • Attend a protest (like the "No Kings" rally along the overpasses in the County) or other Visibility Events"
  • Help with logistics, before, during and after an event, public activity or meeting
  • Participate in group sign making
  • Come with us to visit a local legislative office
  • Perform phone banking and canvassing
  • Help with voter education and registration

Courage Collective
Join with others to identify the actions we can take locally to counter the erosion of norms and institutions by the authoritarian Trump regime.

About Our Work

We are in a period of authoritarian breakthrough. Trump and his administration are rapidly consolidating authoritarian power and eroding the norms and institutions that serve as a check on that power.

It's not too late to stop this takeover, but we must act now to build a society-wide backlash. Join with others in the Courage Collective to identify the actions we can take locally.

Our workgroup will learn about the different pillars of power that are supporting Trump's agenda: Business, Labor, Faith, Education, Civil Service, and Military/Police. We will identify local pillars of power. Then we will choose one or more local pillars and create actions to push those institutions into supporting noncooperation with the Trump administration in order to resist authoritarian actions and defend democracy.
